Hi,
Our business is having an issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro standalone (2015). The software is up to date as of today, version 15.006.30461.
We are getting these pop-up error messages when attempting to open documents: "There was an error reading a stream" and "Insufficient data for an image”. We seem to be getting these issues primarily with PDFs produced from scanned documents, but occasionally get the same issues with other PDFs.
We work with a lot of PDFs so it is hard to tell sometimes whether a specific PDF is causing issue. As of our current project we are dealing with scanned document PDFs from multiple clients and seem to be having trouble with all of them. The issue sometimes happens if multiple PDFs are open at the same time, but also has happened with just 1 or 2 PDFs open. Sometimes the issue happens when the files are open for an extended period of time, but it also happens when you are attempting the open a document for the first time after a reboot.
The documents are stored on our networks business file server. There are not any apparent issues with our network – everything else appears to behave normally. We have only recently started having this issue in the last month.
I have software that monitors our PCs, all of the PCs in question average less than 50% memory usage and 50% or more of the SSD drive space is free. So this issue is happening when there is plenty of available PC resources.
All of the PCs are new Optiplex 7060 that we started using earlier this year.
Windows 10, full up-to-date.
All drivers are fully up-to-date.
Here are the hardware specs:
Processor: Intel i7-8700 @ 3.2GHz
Memory: 16GB (2x8GB)
SSD: Toshiba XG5 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 550
NIC: 1 Gigabit Ethernet (i.e., not using WiFi)
I've seen posts in the past related to similar issue so I'm hopeful that you can determine and resolve the issue quickly.
Thanks!
