Set default Acrobat (DC versus X pro for specific users) in Microsoft RDS environment
Hello,
I have a single server Microsoft Windows Server 2016 RDS environment. (So a single remote desktop server).
I have Adobe Acrobat X professional for some users.
I have Adobe Acrobat DC for standard users.
The Acrobat X pro users are the only ones able to open the Acrobat X pro software (NTFS rights).
The problem is that all users on the server by default have Acrobat DC open pdf files. And the Acrobat X pro users would like Acrobat X pro te be the default program to open PDF's.
How can I make sure that specific users on the server open Acrobat X pro, and not the free Acrobat when double clicking a PDF file?
Deploy DC Reader with error Error 1334. the file 'natives_blob.bin' cannot be installed
Hello all experts,
Here are the steps that I've done. Please let me know where I did wrong
I downloaded from the adobe ftp a reader AcroRdrDC1800920044_en_US.exe and extract it to get the MSI file using a run command as:
AcroRdrDC1800920044_en_US.exe -nos_o"%homepath%\desktop\ReaderDC"
after the extract, I get a folder including the MSI file and a AcroRdrDCUpd1800920044.msp file.
I slipstreamed that msp file using: msiexec /qb /a acroread.msi /p AcroRdrDCUpd1800920044.msp
Then do the Adobe DC customization to get the transform mst file
Finally I rand msiexec /I Acroread.msi transforms="Acroread.mst"
and I get the error 1334. the file 'natives_blob.bin' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file.
Can I anyone help?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best!

Acrobat DC Pro via SCCM switch to disable updates
I'm installing Acrobat DC Pro via SCCM using Setup.exe /msi EULA_ACCEPT=YES /qn . I'd like to be able to add a switch to disable update notifications so that the users don't see any prompts for updates not does the product try to update with user rights (which aren't high enough). How do I do this?

VDI Serialized install of Acrobat Pro 17 crashes, or prompts for Adobe Application Manager Install. Why?
I have followed the following steps when installing Acrobat Pro 17 in my VDI scheme as an appstack:
VMware Horizon Deployments — Enterprise Administration Guide
Common Deployment Options — Enterprise Administration Guide (two of us have run this prov.xml file generator independently on different workstations and appstacks and had the same outcome during testing).
We have Acrobat Reader installed in our Gold Image. vSphere 6.7, AppVol Manager 2.14.2.11, Horizon 7 Administrator, Windows 10 LTSB, using writeable volumes, and instant clones.
It launches for most people (except for one person) but eventually pops up with an error that reads: "Adobe Acrobat Adobe Application Manager, required to run your trial, is missing or damaged. Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager_en_il." The one person it does not launch for gets that warning immediately. Everyone else so far can click "Ok" and continue using Acrobat for a short while. Acrobat reader works but doesn't have the functionality we need. (On a side note, when we try to put Reader on an appstack, it crashes immediately. It didn't used to do that, and we're rather put out by this development but that's another thread).
We didn't buy the trial, we purchased the full thing. We've downloaded the full version that we paid for and are using the serial number directly from our login at the Adobe Worldwide Licensing page.
We use this program heavily (our old version is Acrobat Pro X) and we need to get this up to speed. Any help is appreciated!
Change Printer Preference settings
I have Adobe Acrobat 2017 installed on over 1,000 computers. I need to change a certain setting globally. The setting is "Ask to replace existing PDF file" option. It's currently unchecked by default.
Here is how to get to the setting using a Windows 10 computer. From the Start menu search for "Printers and Scanners". Then under Printers & Scanners right-click Adobe PDF> Manage > Printing Preferences.
Unable to give "Manage Documents" permissions to Adobe PDF printer
Hello
Along with our Adobe Suites we have Adobe Reader DC and the ADOBE PDF Printer installed on a Terminal Server (Win2016).
The Catbuilder application requires "EVERYONE" to have permissions on that Adobe PDF Printer - set to "Manage Documents".
However, under the permissions Tab of the printer properties (I am logged on as Enterprise Admin) everything is greyed out - Impossible to change and permissions.
According to a blog I read, this may be due to Adobe installing in "PROTECTED MODE", but whatever the reason, I need to be able to set the required permissions.
I could not find any GPO which would help either.
PLEASE HELP.
Block startup of Creative Cloud (Server 2012)
Hi all,
We are running a remote-desktop farm of around 50 users, only around 4 of these are using DC pro.
When each user sign's in, an instance of creative cloud and 'Adobe CEF Helper' is starting up (totalling to 50 instances of each).
Because we are running a remote-desktop farm, typical functionality such as msconfig -> startup items is NOT available (or such as in windows 10, going into task manager and clicking the startup tab is not available either).
I have also tried going into shell:startup and trying to find a startup folder in \programdata, but to no avail.
Is there a registry setting of value 1/0 that can be amended to allow/prevent this startup when a user logs in? Otherwise, I can only see setting up a group policy specifically for the DC Pro users to allow the program to run and block it for all other users (which seems a bit overkill.. hopefully there's functionality to manage this from IT perspective). Having each user sign-in and select the 'no not startup' is not an option.. because not all users have a sign-in to even select this option.
Any advice greatly appreciated,
Thanks

SCCM 3rd Party Catalogs for SCCM 1810?
Hi
We are looking at setting the 3rd Part Patching on SCCM and are looking for any Adobe Catalogs that are available.
I have found this page and have tried the Reader DC Continuous Track options but some of the URL's are not HTTPS and the Transition link has an expired cert
SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide
Is there an updated list of Catalog's anywhere?
Thanks

acrobat pro device licence - Asking Me To Sign In
Hey,
I have multiple Device LIcences for Adobe Creative.
All other apps are working with the device licence without issue, but Adobe Acrobat Pro, keeps asking for a sign in and then saying the trial is expire.
This is not a sign in licence, it's a device licence.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch. I've tried fixing the hosts file. I've tried using a licence package.
None of this resolves the issue, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC keeps loading as a Trial, after a 7 day period.
Please assist as all other device licenced apps are working without issue.
Unable to import KFP file From Acrobat DC Mac to Acrobat DC PC
Getting ready for an enterprise deployment of CC2018 and Acrobat DC. Trying to update the Custom Preflight Settings across platforms. I can Export from PC to MAC and import, but not the visa versa. The reason that we are doing this is to capture the output intent from the PDFs that were created with the current profile. Any clues why? I can export the KFP profiles from Acrobat 10 and import them to the PC side, but not from DC to DC.
Running Mac Sierra 10.12.6 Mac Book Pro 2.8 GHz to a PC running Windows 10 64bit. Intel Core 2.6Ghz
Adobe Reader installs files into the installation file's folder instead of where it's supposed to be
Here's the command I have in the batch file:
msiexec.exe /a AcroRead.msi /p AcroRdrDCUpd1901020069.msp /qb /norestart ALLUSERS=1 EULA_ACCEPT=YES SUPPRESS_APP_LAUNCH=YES DISABLE_ARM_SERVICE_INSTALL=1 DISABLEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1
Whenever I run it, it installs the files in the folder where installation files are and not in its proper places. The person who packaged the previous version had:
msiexec.exe /i AcroRead.msi /qb /norestart ALLUSERS=1 EULA_ACCEPT=YES SUPPRESS_APP_LAUNCH=YES DISABLE_ARM_SERVICE_INSTALL=1 DISABLEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1
But that didn't install anything at all.

Creative Cloud on VDI for Acrobat Pro
I work in an enterprise environment where we have about 145 users with Adobe Acrobat. A large majority of these users are on Windows 7 32 bit Virtual Machines with 3 gb ram and 2 cpu cores. That would usually exceed the minimum system requirements for Adobe Acrobat. But the latest 2019 version of Adobe Acrobat DC comes with the Creative Cloud application which is causing a lot of performance issues when we tested it on a virtual machine. So my question is how can the users run acrobat without the creative cloud app?
Software "Conflict" When Downloading Acrobat Pro DC
I am installing CC on a new Windows 10 computer, and every time I try to download Acrobat Pro DC I get an error message saying that I need to shut down Word. Problem is, I'm not running Word. I've rebooted and tried it and still get the error message, "Conflict Installing Acrobat DC. Please save your work and close the following programs for all logged in users, then click Continue....-Microsoft Word."
Is there a way to disable creating P12 file when installing Adobe Acrobat Reader or Pro?
There is a password protected file in the Preflight folder created when installing Acrobat Reader. Is there a way to prevent this file from being generated? What is the .pfx file used for?
