How do i customize Adobe Acrobat 2017 Enterprise install ??
Upgrade from Reader XI to Acrobat DC
I have at least 50 machines that will need to have Acrobat DC instead of Reader XI, since Reader XI support is ending soon. What is the easiest way to do this? Are they different products meaning that Reader XI needs to be uninstalled and Acrobat DC installed? I installed Reader XI on my machine and tried to check for updates, hoping it would push Acrobat DC but did not. What is the easiest way to push them out in mass? Can I do this with WSUS or 3rd party updates in SolarWinds Patch Manager?
Thanks for your time.
How to get IE11 to stop opening PDF documents in browser.
What I want/need:
- When opening a PDF from a website for it to open in the Acrobat program and NOT in a web browser window.
- We have this set up and working on dozens of other computers in our office.
What Happens:
- It always opens a new tab and displays a blank page with the black X box in the upper left corner.
- The only change to this scenario is if I ENABLE the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, and then it opens the PDF inside the browser tab - which we do not want.
Question:
- How do I IE11 to stop opening a new tab and attempting to open a PDF when I have expressly disabled everything Acrobat related.
- Running IE11
- Windows 7 Pro / 64bit
- Adobe Acrobat XI Standard 11.0.10
Have Tried (many time):
- Re-installing everything, including Windows, from scratch.
- Uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat XI Standard
- Installed Acrobat Reader
- Disabling Add-ons.
- Yes, I know it is under "All add-ons" and is the Adobe PDF Reader" one that must be disabled.
- I have tried disabling everything in there, including add-ons for other programs.
- Made certain the extensions are all set up properly.
- Tried the registry hack for TabProcGrowth in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
- Tried adjusting it through the Accessibility options on the 5th page to say not in the browser window.
What am I missing? Thank you so much!

Does Our Adobe Acrobat XI Pro MUI support
Hello,
My company has a serial number for Acrobat XI Pro but we are not able to configure it to use Germany or French Language support
Below errors made me to assume that our serial number dont support MUI install:
screen shot of error during Installation after altering MUI section of Adobe Customization wizard 11.0 and screen shot supporting this from PDF which guides Customization wizard editing.
i tried giving German, French languages together in "Acrobat MUI language Section" in Customization wizard which will set automatically LANG_LIST property.
acrobat 8

Adobe Acrobat DC Single Use Activation
Ok, I am in need of some guidance on activating my licenses for adobe acrobat DC.
Adobe support can't seem to wrap their heads around this when I call/chat with them but here is the situation. I have a single adobe account that I manage all of my users licenses with. I have bought 4 single Adobe Acrobat DC licenses, 1 adobe acrobat pro DC license and I also have one creative cloud membership all under this account.
What I am running in to is I will install the adobe acrobat dc standalone installer and it takes my license to install it and completes successfully. However when I launch acrobat I wants me to "sign in" to my adobe account. First time I did this was fine didn't care.
However now I am seeing that what is happening is when I "sign in" it is activating it under my creative membership and NOT the single license I inputted. Obviously this becomes an issue after just 2 activations and am having a hard time trying to activate my single licenses. I have tried bypassing the sign on but it just closes the program instead and does not give the option.
I tried running a "trial" install to activate later but cant get past the sign in page.
Does anyone else have this issue?
adobe_prtk.exe Return Code = 19
Hallo,
I'm trying to license Adobe Acrobat 2017 for a Citrix 7.6 provisioning environment. When I run:
adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=<SN> --leid=V7{}AcrobatESR-17-Win-GM --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress
The serial number is from a TLP License program.
I get a return code 19.
I'm Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition for CS 6 (Windows).
I've tried using LEID=V7{}AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM (same error)
Please help.
Do Acrobat Pro DC users need Reader DC?
With Acrobat Pro XI standard practice was to install Reader. Is the same true for Acrobat DC users?
I have a non-profit license, downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro DC2015 and it says license code is not correct. Where do i find the download for this SKU???
Per the subject. We are a non profit, and have a non profit license package.
This is the SKU:
Acrobat Professional DC2015 12.0 MLP AOO License UE (65258634) |
Licensing Program
TLP 5.0 LICENSE PROGRAM - EDUCATION
I tried a download I found on the Adobe site, Acrobat_Pro_DC_Set-Up.exe, and it said license code was not correct. Where do I get this download package from for our SKU?
Thank you very much for your time and support!
I can't download the e-license for AA 8.1.0 Professional
I am trying to re-download adobe acrobat 8.1.0 professional on my computer. When i get to the download e-license step I get a "Unable to connect to the internet" message. I tried downloading the e-license through different networks and I get the same message so it can't be the firewall. I first noticed this issue about two weeks ago and have not found a solution for this. Can anyone please help me. Thank you
Acrobat Pro DC toolbars not staying session to session
We have a client whom just purchased the portal licensed version of Adobe Acrobat DC Standard. We tried it on her system before rolling it out, and it's a good thing we did, as now her toolbars are being erased when she opens up other documents. They use PDFlyer and I found others with similar issues.
Users should be able to customize their toolbars without having them wiped out depending on if they open a document from Outlook, from the web, or from the program itself. Has there been a solution posted? She is logged in under her account with the latest version.
OS: Windows 7/10
Version: Adobe Acrobat DC Standard
We're holding off on rolling out and may even ask for a refund if this has now become an Adobe "feature".
Thanks!
Empty Webpage for Installation and Activation Invitation Link for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC from Creative Clouds for Teams
I have wasted hours in trying to install and activate a recently purchased license for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I have sent an invitation link from Creative Cloud for teams. When I clicked the link, a blank webpage appears (see below). I have tried x3 different browsers and the same outcome. I have also downloaded and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and I have signed in. Still the program does not recognize that I have a license, and only a trial exists. Can someone help? Here is the screenshot of the webpage from the link in the invitation email:
Acrobat DC - Creative Cloud Package - Disable Updates
Hello,
I created the Acrobat DC 2017 installed from the Creative Cloud Packager and specified to disable updates. I then deployed this with the 'setup.exe --silent' on many machines but we are getting prompts of it Automatically Updating. I reached out to Support and they said for me to use the Customization Wizard but there are issues with this:
- Using the latest version of the CustWiz, I am unable to open the Acrobat MSI created from Creative Cloud Packager
- Deploying it using the MSI does not work, only using the 'setup.exe' as specified in documentation
- I also deployed the Group Policy settings from the pertinent ADMX templates but those have no effect
Any ideas outside of deploying a registry setting? The above options should have worked.
How do you set Reader DC to always open PDF's inside Internet Explorer?
I'm having trouble with making Adobe Reader DC (17) open PDF files directly inside IE instead of opening the desktop app. In previous version of Reader there used to be a button in the "Internet" options under the settings menu that said something like "View PDF in browser", or something like that. However, in DC that option is no longer available. I have searched the internet for many hours, but I have not found any solution to the problem.
The PDF ActiveX addin in IE is already enabled.
Thanks

Adobe Acrobat DC CC Automatic Updates
Hello,
I created an Adobe Acrobat DC Creative Cloud installer (Device licensing). In that process I specified to disable updates. I tried to use the Customization Wizard to modify the created MSI (as I've done for previous Acrobat Pro installs) but it does not open and says it isn't supported. From there I deployed the installer via 'setup.exe --silent' and all seemed well. Adobe Acrobat appears to be automatically installing updates, though.
I have downloaded the Group Policy Templates and specified to disable updates but that does not work. I can modify the registry setting via the Group Policy Preference information they gave but I'd like to avoid this if possible.
Any thoughts?
These were the URL's I was referencing:
Group Policy-Active Directory — Enterprise Administration Guide
I have two sets of licenses from years ago. How can I find which ones have been consumed? And how many times? Also, how can I find from which vendor they were purchased?
I have two sets of Acrobat Pro keys, and a set of Creative Cloud licenses which includes Acrobat Pro. How can I find out which licenses are still available to use? On the Creative Cloud site, that is simple enough, but is there a site i can check for the licenses? For one set of keys, i am given a reference link to https://adobe.subscribenet.com/ where I can go to download the software, but it doesn't explain how many licenses I have and if they are used or not. Any help is appreciated.

Acrobat 2017 Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition
Hello,
I'm attempting to install Adobe Acrobat 2017 in a citrix 6.5 farm that publishes apps only. I ran the APTEE and received an error code 14. I used LEID V7 AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM and tried the -17 one also.
